NEWS

We are delighted to announce The Digital Story Company's Urban Fox Project has received Make it Happen funding.  The flagship grants programme offers seed funding for new cultural and creative projects taking place in Waltham Forest.

The Urban Fox Project is a multi-disciplinary project for foster families in Waltham Forest to create a mural design for an alleyway in Higham Hill and a short animation film to bring the mural "to life". With story producer Kate Hampel, mural artist Tom Jackson from Wood Street Walls and animator Maggie Nightingale the families will create a design based on a story of their experiences of urban wildlife and nature.

Testimonials

Kate brought a fresh new perspective to involving the community and the projects proved really popular with many residents wanting to get involved. Many had never been involved in anything like this and the feedback was very positive as residents were very excited to see their neighbourhood on screen.

Kate has shown how to be sensitive to local needs whilst making sure that the voices of the community are heard. It has helped bring the community together as well as giving opportunities to many, including several young people who have gone on to achieve things they never thought they would.

I have found Kate and her colleagues to be professional in their work and a joy to work with.
